After arriving at Mandalay airport, head towards Mogok for a 7 hour drive.
Mandatory stop at the checkpoint, a second “visa” is required to enter the province. (not a visa but a special authorization)

The visit of Mogok can not be done without a picture of one of the most famous points of view of the region.

From underground to the surface
Alluvial mining
In fact, we are talking here rather about colluvial (A loose accumulation of rock and soil debris at the foot of a slope). The stones have traveled a very short distance between their original location and the watercourse in which they are found. This is easy to identify. The crystalline shapes are still almost perfect and have hardly been affected by the erosion that can be seen on other stones from alluvial deposits.
