The name “laser cut” is a trade name means stones cut in unusual shape by expert gem cutters. In fact, there is no machine that complitly cuts stones with a laser.

In gem cutting factories, lasers are used to give rough diamond a preforming rough shape, to facilitate the work of the gem cutter. But even today, all natural stones are still partially or totally cut by hand. This will not last long, because technical progress will allow in a short time to fully automate the processes of gem cutting.
