The dry season runs from December through April, while the monsoon from May to November brings wet weather and high humidity.
The best time to visit Siem Reap is in December and January, when the days are assuredly sunny and dry. Just be aware that this is the peak tourist season, so you’ll find it more crowded everywhere and prices will be higher.

Siem Reap has no coastline. Cambodia’s beaches are often neglected in favor of Thailand’s. But slowly, surely, the country’s idyllic islands and shining white sands of Sihanoukville are becoming known to the world’s beach lovers.
The distance from Siem Reap to Sihanoukville is around 532km (350 miles) by road. It is due to this long distance transfer (10-15 hours by road) that a lot of travellers choose not to travel to Sihanoukville at all. The fastest option is to take a plane, which takes 1 hour.
